glass remnant - ▸ (2023)

glass remnant is a virtual band formed by me, Bahamaian artist pjpriiincess, British artist weaselstack and I.
(or U+25B8 on streaming platforms) is our third musical offering, one in the themes of space exploration. At the time of making this release, I had just moved to Berlin and was still focused on getting settled with my home and job at the time, meaning I was a little less involved musically beyond a few demo sketches for track ideas and mostly providing feedback and ideas for the direction the songs/album were taking.
I did, however do a bit more art directing here as I came up with the name of the release as well as designing the cover art for it using 3D visuals designed by weaselstack, that also appear in the visual album itself.
This album was released on cassette tape through Pause & Reflect Music whom also released T-shirts with our logo on it as merchandising.

glass remnant - Monochromium/Monotonium (2022)

Monochromium/Monotonium gotta be one of my favourite avant-garde releases ever! In this double LP, the remnants and I took a collection of public domain film noir movies, and sampled their dialogues, sound effects, and music into an hour-long experience from breakbeats, trip-hop, to eerie drone and noise music! The cover art was designed by me featuring 3D renders of weaselstack.
This album was released on cassette tapes and minidiscs through the Fish Prints label.

glass remnant at Cream Fest (2022)

Nightshroud, an artist from Austria, runs a YouTube channel called Cream City FM where he shares albums he loves, all the full albums of glass remnant, as well as some of our solo discography have been hosted on his channel and when he hit 200 subsribers, he organised a URL show called Cream Fest where we all did a virtual music set that was played during the festival live stream!
All three of us made a seperate mix for our set; Mine is the first, weaselstack is the second, and pjpriiincess is the third! The visualiser was made by me featuring the 3D animations made by weaselstack.

glass remnant - Self-Titled (2021)

The beginning of the madness! pjpriiincess approached me if I wanted to start a group along with weaselstack and I immediately said yes! The idea of doing a virtual band has crossed my mind many times, so this was the perfect opportunity to make that reality!

I have actually considered starting a virtual band multiple times

Initially planning to make an EP, we ended up making much more tracks than expected when we were exchanging audio stems and loops with each other! There was no theme whatsoever, the album just came to be along the way as I shared my sound designs, pjpriiincess made abstract audios using microsampling, and weaselstack used an analog tracker and drum machine.

Delusion Illusion (2019)

Delusion Illusion is a soundground assignment during my first year at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, we made field recordings using a Zoom recorder and got to experiment with sound design using only four tracks in which we made this dreamy soundscape. The soundscape was divided in four differnent parts with each of us making a visualiser for one of them, mine is the first.

Sound Bite (2015)

Similar to the WdKA assignment, during my first year of studying Media Design, the assignment was to experiment around using sound recordings and create a sound bite. My classmates and I walked around the area and interacted with all the objects to see what kind of sounds would stem from it.
Although doing a cover was optional, I used the song Shoo Fly by Redds as a reference material. At the time I was still a YouTube Partner signed with Fullscreen Inc, and very cautious about using copyrighted audio, so I actually contacted Reddz on Newgrounds asking if it was okay to cover his song for my college assignment, and they were more than happy to cooperate!
What I love the most about this song in hindsight is that this is technically already a Caesár song, or cover. I discovered the Nerdcore genre through this song which also contained industrial elements itself with the raw guitar playing in it, and my cover of it has this very "acapella industrial" vibe too as the sound design would work pretty nicely texture wise layered over the instruments, giving it this very intense industrial vibe!
